Both the Budget and Deluxe 1-Day trips are on the same section of river with 35 class III and IV rapids, 26 kilometers (18 miles).
Both have professional guides and equipment.
Both trips will take excellent care of all your luggage and personal things while you are on the river.
The Deluxe trip offers breakfast & lunch, plus hotel-to-hotel transportation from/to your choice of cities: PV, San Jose or La Fortuna.
On the Budget trip, only lunch is offered, and transportation begins and ends in Siquirres or Turrialba. But it is still easy to transfer between Puerto Viejo and San Jose, and our travel information instructions will make it easier.

Duration: |
About 11-12 hours total, approximately 4 hours on the river. If you are departing from Puerto Viejo, you must be on the first public bus towards San Jose at 7:30 am or driving out of Puerto Viejo in your own car no later than 7:00 am so that you will arrive at the Caribbean Dish Restaurant in Siquirres by 9:30 am.
If you are departing from San Jose you must be on the bus to Turrialba at 7am. You will be met at the Turrialba bus terminal at about 9:00 am.
You will exit the river near Siquirres between 3:00 and 4:00 pm. If you are going on to San Jose or Puerto Viejo, you will be taken to the bus terminal in Siquirres and arrive at your destination about 7:00 pm. Or you will be taken by private shuttle to Turrialba and arrive about 6:00 pm. |
